Entrepreneurship in Democratic Republic of Congo
Challenging circumstances do not stop the 60 young Congolese who join SOCEO’s Sustainable Livelihood Development Program – SLDP every year in Uvira, a town at the shore of Lake Tanganika. During a three-week Entrepreneurship Training the participants develop business ideas and respective business plans out of which the most promising are supported with seed money. Thus the program aims at offering new livelihood opportunities.
The project is being supported by ChildFund Deutschland e.V. and Hand in Hand-Fond. SOCEO has conducted the Estimation Study, facilitated the implementation of SLDP and is consulting & monitoring SLDP related activities.
